Houston
Houston! You beautiful, multidimensional melting pot of a city. This remarkable kingdom of Nolan Ryan fastballs and Mike Jones’ phone numbers. What the great and powerful philosopher Megan Thee Stallion defined as a town where “the whole swag comes from”. It is appropriate that our journey into space starts here, because Houston is a place feels like an entire universe, radiating out in circles from the city center. Honestly it's hard to tell where Houston ends and the rest of America begins. How many different kinds of people that have managed to find a home and a community here is remarkable to me. The late great Anthony Bourdain said it best – “this is a city that proves there are still places in America where strangers are welcome,” ...and the food here is evidence of that. A truly eclectic scene of traditional dishes and cross pollinations - Cajun, Mexican, Texas barbecue, Vietnamese, Himalayan…and that’s just what I had the last time I was there. I am overjoyed that we can share just a few of your favorite places to experience and explore this constellation of a city. There will be many stars that shine bright in this American World Cup, but none may shine brighter than the city of Houston.
